March Meeting – Gravel Gardening

derry

At our meeting on the 6th March Derry Watkins, of Special Plants Nursery, will be talking to us about Gravel Gardening.  Derry is author of two books on gardening and has introduced many plants from her plant collecting trips to South Africa and elsewhere. The result is a collection of unusual plants from all over the world,  including an amazing range of hardy herbaceous and rockery plants as well as many tender perennials for terrace and conservatory.

Also at March’s meeting there will be a Plant Stall for members’ plant donations with all the proceeds going to the Percy Picton Memorial Fund.  So if you have a chance to do some lifting and dividing of perennials, pot your left overs up, label them and bring them to the meeting. We ask that any unsold plants are collected by the donor.  The members plant stall will also run in April, May and June.

Finally, a reminder that if you would like to go on one of the two garden visits included in this year’s programme then you can book your place with Tim Beaumont at the meeting.  Details of the garden visits are on your printed programmes or you can access them via this link.

Visitors are always welcome to the meetings at a cost of £4 each which includes refreshments.  The talk will commence at 7:30 with refreshments available from 7:00.  As ever we will be meeting in Colwall Village Hall.
