2024 The 80th Summer Show

Chairman’s Report:
Despite the summer being a bit of a non-event the benches were packed with beautiful displays of flowers and vegetables. We had almost record breaking numbers of floral art entries which illustrated the vast wealth of artistry and imagination the residents of Colwall have to offer. In the Jean Simon room the tables were weighed down with delicious looking cakes and bakes including Hugh’s extra special sausage rolls. As usual we had some beautiful images in the photography classes for all to enjoy in the afternoon.

Afternoon visitors enjoyed being able to interact with our artist in resident Laura Nicholson, gorgeous ice cream from Kelways and a fabulous floral display from Kay Smith and team in the Scout hut. The plant and produce stall had masses to choose from and the tombola was popular as ever. All in all the day was a big success but none of it would happen without the help of the Wyche and Colwall committee and members and most importantly of all everybody that took the time to put entries in. So a huge thank you to everyone that got involved.

The peoples choice was run again this year, the prize being a fish and chip supper at the Yew Tree which was generously donated by Anna. The winner this year was Kay Smith with her beautiful floral art exhibit.
