We are looking forward to seeing you on Monday at the annual Percy Picton Memorial Lecture, this year given by Tom Coward of Gravetye Manor.
Monday is also when we celebrate Asters by holding the annual Ernest Ballad Aster Competition. If you went to the Autumn Show, you will have seen Picton Gardens’ beautiful, gold-medal winning display and no doubt been inspired to grow some of your own.
For those who already have a few of these gorgeous late-bloomers in their borders, do bring a vase along – it can be a big bouquet or a little jug – and you could win a prize!

Finally we would like to introduce you to our new logo which, naturally, features an aster. We just can’t get enough of them! And thanks to one of our committee members, Gill Umney, for the lovely painting.

The talk will start at 7.30pm in Colwall Village Hall. However, do come along from 7pm to socialise, enjoy a drink and some nibbles, and buy a raffle ticket or two.
It is guaranteed to be a fascinating and informative evening and hopefully you have already got your tickets. If not, you can pick up one (or several!) at the Old Court Nurseries in Colwall.
