On Monday evening we held our first ever virtual Spring Show celebration on zoom! The show presentation was hosted by Paul Picton who took us through the photographic entries with his usual knowledge and enthusiasm for all things plants.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the show by taking and sending in your photos. A lot of consideration and thought had gone into the entries and the standard was high! In all there are over 100 photos for everyone to enjoy. To view them click on this link:

I would like to thank Sharon Maiden, Ross Barbour and Helen Picton for helping to draw up the schedules.
I would also like to thank Angela Thompson, Hugh Thomas and Sharon Maiden for judging the entries.
Special thanks to Paul Picton for all his time and energy in collating the entries and putting together a wonderful presentation for us to enjoy. I know it has kept him very busy when it’s been raining and he hasn’t been able to get out in the garden.
The judges each nominated a favourite photo and three lucky winners won a prize:
a bottle of Coddington Vineyard wine – Anne Bard (thank you Sharon)
a Old Court Nursery voucher – Lynn Humphries (thank you Helen and Ross)
and some lovely pelargoniums – Sarah Jane Arden
Prizes aside, I hope everyone will agree that the Spring Show has been a fun thing to do and kept us busy over the last few months. I sincerely hope that we will be able to hold our annual Flower and Produce Show in the village hall on Saturday 14th August. We will keep you posted.
Details coming soon about how to join June 7th’s Monday meeting ‘A Year in the Garden at Overbecks with head gardener Chris Groves. Check him out on Instagram where you’ll be able to enjoy very many wonderful photos of the garden and the views from it.
Best wishes
Liz Thomas on behalf of the WCHS Committee
