June Update

June’s talk ‘A Year in the Garden at Overbecks’ given by Head gardener, Chris Groves was fascinating and very interesting. This is now a garden on my ‘to visit’ list! Overbecks is a 2 1/2 acre garden nestled on the Salcombe Estuary which enjoys its own micro-climate. Chris told us many stories about the history of the garden and illustrated his talk with fabulous photographs of many amazing plants that thrive there.

Don’t forget that Sidney and Veronica Benjamin have invited members of the WCHS to visit their garden, ‘The Alderley’ in Colwall. Call them to arrange a time that suits on 01684 541136. Groups of up to 4 are welcome. Donations will go to the Percy Picton Memorial Fund.

Our next meeting on Monday 5th July will be given on Zoom by Louise Nicholls on Ulting Wick Garden, an 11 acre garden in rural Essex. Log in details to follow shortly.

Best wishes
