The next meeting is on Monday 5th August. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30 start. Come early for a coffee and a chat. Visitors are welcome, with entry at £8, under-18s free.
As President of the Wyche and Colwall Horticuiltural Society, Paul needs no introduction. We are delighted that he will be talking to us about a group of plants which he is passionate about.
Paul says he is a “lover and grower of plants, not a botanist”, and his writing is based on his hands-on experience. With more than fifty years of working with asters, he has a vast knowledge of the genus and has written “The Gardener’s Guide to Growing Asters” as well as “The Plant Lover’s Guide to Asters”, with daughter Helen.
Also a keen photographer, Paul shares his fabulous pictures through his blog at https://paulpictonswebpatch.blog/
Plants and gardens are featured along with photographs of his other interests, landscapes and churches.
Our plant stall, which raises funds for the Percy Picton Memorial Fund, always needs additional donations of good quality, interesting plants. It’s really helpful if they come labelled with a name and price, though any unsold plants do need to be taken back home at the end of the meeting. Please bring some money to spend on the plant stall and a bag … we need to keep the floor of the village hall free of compost!
