Our next meeting, on Monday 5th May, will be one of the highlights of the year, a talk by Timothy Walker. Tim, always an engaging and entertaining speaker, was until recently the Director of Oxford Botanic Garden and his talk will take us through the The Subtle Art and Precise Science of PRUNING. Timothy’s talk puts all plants into groups for pruning purposes; whether it is necessary and when, and when not to prune.

“For many people pruning is as bewildering as potions were to the young Harry Potter, but armed with the 10 principles in this talk you will never fear pruning again!
In addition to these principles I look at the various classes of pruning with many examples of trees & shrubs commonly found in gardens.”
The talk will start at 7.30pm in Colwall Village Hall. However, do come along from 7pm to enjoy a hot drink and a chat as well as the plant stall and raffle.
We would be very grateful for any donated plants, cuttings, divisions and seedlings for the plant stall. And please bring along a bag for any plants you buy from the stall as we need to keep the floor of the village hall clean and free of compost.
