Our next talk, on Monday 3rd September, is given by Marion Stainton. Marion is active in a broad range of horticultural projects for domestic, commercial and community gardens and spaces. Her interests are in sustainable, environmentally friendly gardening, including pest management, vegetable growing, plant & garden history and the science behind plants and their uses.
As always the the venue for the evening is Colwall Village Hall and complimentary refreshments will be available from 7:00pm. Plants will be on sale before the meeting. Anyone wishing to contribute plants to the plant stall (all proceeds going to the Percy Picton Memorial Fund) is most welcome to. This will be the last plant sale of the year so make the most of it.
Tickets for the 32nd Percy Picton Memeorial Lecture, to be given by Fergus Garrett on Monday 1st October will be on sale.
Last week’s Annual Flower and Produce Show was a great success. The weather held up and the show was well attended. The hall looked fantastic with the many floral entries. See separate blog entry for some sample pics.
The evening is free to members or £5 per visitor. Annual membership (which runs from January to December) is £15.
